Data Center Equinix Launched Business Continuity Service

Equinix, a provider of global data center services announced a new service named “Business Continuity Trading Room” (BCTR). It will be delivered from Equinix’s NY7 International Business Exchange (IBX®) data center. It is aimed to be used from financial sector in New York and from companies who need “mission critical” trading infrastructure.

The New York based Equinix’s BCTR facilities will protect financial customers’ mission critical operations in the event of a major incident or disaster. Equinix BCTR services are secure facilities that meet or exceed industry standards and allow financial firms to meet regulatory requirements for business continuity, and ensure trading will continue in the same secure, reliable and network rich environment as Equinix colocation services. Equinix offers traders access to trading desks equipped with multiple monitors, workstations and specialized trading phones with voice recording and numerous market data feeds. Customized private suites ensure customers also have the flexibility to address any infrastructure or risk profile.

Equinix offer business continuity data center services in Germany and in Hong Kong. The company’s customers leveraged BCTR services to ensure trading rooms were kept active in Hong Kong during the SARS epidemic and the Bird Flu scare in 2003.
